Luisa Dorr, Brazilian, who photographed the cover about "women who are changing the world" for Time. She was born in Lajeado, a small neighborhood located in Rio Grande do Sul. After finishing school Luisa began to study graphic design in college, a course which she studied for three or four years. "I wasn't very happy and my aunt invited me to work with her, I believe it was in 2010." Her aunt had a photographic studio in which she performed photographing weddings and baptisms. At that time I had a certain hierarchy and she had to wait for her turn to be able to photograph, she could not shoot in the studio, despite having a camera from my childhood. Dorr to moved to New York to realize her dream, but it was not easy. She studied photography at Ulbra (university) at night and during the day she worked as an assistant in an advertising photography studio. She would do all the actions of an assistant, set up the light and set up the photo set, clean the studio and do everything an assistant does. She worked until she graduated.

Luisa found some difficulties in her journey it was not every time easier, mainly because your age, but she never gave up. She gave an interview to the website Time.com, and when asked if she was motivated by some woman she has pictured she said: "All of them went through a lot of struggle just to slowly consolidate a place in society. This positive fighting energy never giving up is what has inspired me the most." Luisa took a lot of pictures of important women such as, Oprah Winfrey , Hilary Clinton and Serena Williams.

Oprah Winfrey  This is one of Luisa jobs, made for the Time.

Like Luisa a lot of women are tying to get their space in the society. After some researches I could found one thing which women are always fighting for equality but they never get. I am talking about sports. In the XXI century women are looking for their equality. I took one example from soccer. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Soccer makes billions of dollars, with publicity, sponsorship, and other things. Whatever, the difference between the most well payed soccer player (man) to woman soccer player is crazy. Lionel Messi, the best player in the world choose by FIFA, (International Federation of Association Football) earns 112 millions pounds per year. On the other side Ada Hergerberg makes 343,000 pounds per year. It is 326 times less than Messi. There is a huge spot between men and women in the world of sports. Data based on fourfourtwo.com. Messi beats Serena Williams, who is the most well payed woman athlete in the world ($29,2 million per year).

I believe this not only happen in sports but in most of career that women have men as "opponent". As Luisa, or all the women who are fighting everyday to find their equality on the society, they should be treated as the same importance as men do. I am not saying to put them to train together or to work together I am just saying that they fight a lot for opportunities and they deserve more than now. In the video Women Photojournalist we could see how hard is to women be accepted in some areas of work. Even in some countries they suffer discrimination because they cannot work with this or that. It is time to make this separation a little bit more even and help the women to have courage to express their jobs without be fear of any discrimination.

What feelings this image create? This image creates a feeling of security. She has the camera in her hands like she knows what she is doing. Very focused on her job.

Rule of thirds:The main subject is located in the middle of the picture. The background is ignored. The attention is at the center of the picture which Sasamoto is holding her camera.

Quality of light: Picture taken in black and white which it is normal for that time. I can see the picture was taken during the day and she looked very lightly with no shadows around her.

This is Tsuneuko Sasamoto, considered the first female photojournalist in the world. She photographed the Japan after and before the WWII. She probably do not know but she motivated a lot of women in the world to do what she used to do.

What feeling does the image create: It creates a feeling of worry. She looks worried about what is happening in the game. She is not even noticing that the picture is being taken. She looks focused in a problem.

Rule of thirds: The main subject is in focus. The main subject looks not totally centralized but it still a rule of thirds. If we divide the picture in three parts it gets all the three parts.

Shallow depth of field: The background is blurred and the main subject gets all the focus. Very nice picture getting all the attention for the subject. Nothing else is calling attention on the picture.

I picked this photo because this is Marta da Silva. The best woman soccer player in the world. Elected by FIFA for 6 times, the same number as Messi. She has more goals than anyone in World cups, more than the men as well. She was always fighting for her equality in the world. If you notice she was wearing make up in the game to call people attention saying that women can play soccer.

Background compliments: This image divides people's attention because the background. The background is not clearly as the subject in front, is a little blurred to be honest, but is shows that they are in a competition for something.

What feeling does the image create: It creates the feeling of  tension and focus. They look ready for this competition. Also for this angle shows the man in front of the women. I do not know if the person who took this picture tried to say something with this image, but it looks the man has advantage from the woman.

Quality of light: It looks the light is coming from the west part of the picture. As I said it looks a good photo the only thing is the background is a little blurred, and the man in front is totally visible. The photographer definitely tried to show something with this picture about the not equality between men and women.

I choose this photo because for me it shows how is the reality. Men are in front of women and if nobody gives them a chance it will never change. Women should at least have the same rights as men it would make them lose the fear of trying more.
